Analysis of Chemical Constituents of Essential Oil from Twigs of Keteleeria fortunei by Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry

  • In order to promote the rational application of Keteleeria fortunei, the essential oil from K. fortunei twigs was extracted by steam distillation and analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC/MS). The results show that 20 constituents have been identified, among which, the principal are (-)-β-elemene (2.09%), β-caryophyllene ( 67.42%), humulene (11.57%), germacrene D (3.32%) and caryophyllene oxide (5.60%). The identified constituents accounted for 96.88% of the total ion peak area.
