Determination of Boron in Uranium with ID-ICP-MS after Cation Ion-exchange Separation

Abstract
Separation and determination methods of trace boron in uranium were outlined. The method of determination of boron in uranium with ID-ICP-MS after cation ion-exchange separation was established. The dissolving methods of U 3O 8, the operating parameters of ICP-MS, the memory effects, the separation methods of boron in uranium and the washing solutions were studied and optimized. The concentration of boron measured in GBW 04204 was 0.54 μg/gU 3O 8, agreeable with the reference value of 0.50 μg/gU 3O 8.
