A New ultrasensitive Technique for MS

In this paper we described a new apparatus--sputter-initiated resonanceionization spectroscopy (SIRIS) system which provides innovatory ultrasensi-tive and ultraselective analysis technique of solid samples for all the elementsand their isotopes except helium and neon. The initial phase of the cons-truction of the SIRIS apparatus has been completed and testing began inearly 1983. The results thus far are encouraging.
