The Effect of Higher Order Fields on Quadrupole Mass Filter
The effects of higher order fields, such as A6, A10 on linear quadrupole field have been studied by theoretic simulations. The first stability diagram of linear quadrupole mass filter, which determines the performance of linear quadrupole mass filter, particularly the mass resolution, is distorted with tadded higher order fields.
