Determination of Creatinine in Serum Using High Performance Liquid Chromatography and Isotope Dilution-Mass Spectrometry

  • A very simple and direct method for determination of creatinine in serum based on high performance liquid chromatography and isotope dilution mass spectrometry (LC-ID/MS) is described. Chromatographic separations were performed with a zorbax bonusRP column. With a chromatographic run time of less than 10 min and sample preparation consisting of a simple protein precipitation, without the need for a derivatisation step, the analysis is greatly simpler than the conventional GC-IDMS method.
