Identification and Significance of Biomarkers in Source Rocks and Crude Oils

Based on the experience of many years in the identification of biomarker, theauthors analysed the characters of all kinds of compounds in total hydrocarbons fractionand made a series of practical tables using character fragments and molecular ions of thecompounds. Meanwhile, combined with the literature data and study of low maturesource rocks and immature oils, the potential biological source of biomarkers was alsobriefly discussed and listed herein.
