LC/MS Analysis of Diuretics in Human Urine

There are thirteen banned diuretics by IOC. Most of them can be analysed by GC/MS after methyl derivatives. The detection limits are 0. 2～0. 5μg/ml. Amiloride, benzthiazide and triamterene are difficult to be derivatived by methylation. LC/MS is widely used for the direct analysis of nonvolital compounds, but there are very few reports about diuretics.The LC/MS analysis of the three drugs were reported in this paper. The effect of different combinaton of mobile phases on the sensitivities of amiloride, benzthiazide and triamterene were studied. The standards of the three drugs and drug positive urine samples were analysed with LC/TS/MS.
