  • The subcellular localization of a protein, as well as its quantity, can provide important information about its function within the cell. Many experimental methods, such as green fluorescent protein based assay and organelle isolation based proteomics strategy, have been used to map proteins to their intracellular locations. In this study, a new approach based on multiple reaction monitoring-mass spectrometry (MRM-MS) was introduced to simultaneously assay the subcellular localization of a protein and its quantity within the organelle.
