Abstract
In accordance to the requirement of detecting the size and chemical compositions of individual aerosol particles simultaneously, we developed a real-time single particle aerosol time of flight mass spectrometer (SPAMS). Working principle and structures of the components in SPAMS were presented. Laboratory generated particles were used for size and mass spectra calibration. The effects of different laser energies on the DOP’s hit rate and mass spectrum were investigated as well. Indoor aerosol particle detection manifests its high measurement accuracy of isotope abundance and mass resolution.
