Abstract
The volatile components in one type of mosquito-repellent perfume were analyzed by headspace extraction-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (HS-GC/MS). The results show that HS-GC/MS is effective in the analysis of mosquito-repellent perfume. 44 components are separated and identified by comparing their mass spectra with those contained in the Nist mass spectral library and in some references literatures. The main components are ethyl alcohol and N, N-diethyl-3-methyl-benzamide (DEET), and the latter is effective ingredient of in the mosquito-repellent perfume. In addition phenylethyl alcohol, isolongifolene, linalol, methyl dihydrojasmonate, dihydromyrcenol, α-hexylcinnamaldehyde, galaxolide, β-ionone, citronellol and linalol butyrate are important to perfume odors.
