Determination of Monomers in Food Simulants of Materials in Contact with Foodstuffs by Purg & Trap-GC/MS/SIM

  • A purg & trap-GC/MS/SIM method for the determination of the migration of monomers such as vinylidene chloride, acrylonitrilein and 1,3-butadiene in water food simulants of materials in contact with foodstuffs was developed. The quality and the quantity were done together. Under the optimum separation condition, the three monomers in water food simulants were separated well. The recovery varies from 90.2% to 108.5%, the RSD of result varies from 6.07% to 8.42%, and the detection limitation is all 0.01 mg kg-1. The method is simple, rapid, sensitive and accurate. The method can meet the correlative requirements of the 2002/72/EC, 78/142/EEC and US FDA CFR 177.1020.
