Abstract: To provide the foundation for reasonable utilization， the volatile oil in Scutellaria barbata D. Don was analyzed. The volatile oil of Scutellaria barbata D. Don was extracted by simultaneous distillation extraction. The components were separated by gas chromatography, and identified by mass spectrometry. The result shows that the content of volatile oil of Scutellaria barbata D. Don is 1.84%. 35 compounds in the volatile oil of Scutellaria barbata D. Don are identified by GC/MS. The higher chemical components in the volatile oil are furfural, phenol,5-methyl-2-(1- methylethyl) and hexadecanoic acid.
