Abstract:
A method using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry with multiplereaction monitoring (LC-MS/MS-MRM) was developed for the simultaneous screening of 59 drugs of abuse in the body specimens to cover the problem in forensic toxicology. The biological samples including blood, urine and hair were prepared simply and rapidly. The MRM database and criteria for identification were established. The screening method was followed by confirmation procedure and the limits of detection ranged from 0.1 to 10 ng/mL (LOD for 73% of the drugs≤0.1 ng/mL). The method was sufficiently selective and sensitive to detect illicit drugs and applied in forensic casework.
