Piperazinylethylestrone is a new synthetic compound that can be used for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis and other diseases caused by osteoporosis. Electron ionization mass spectrometry (EI-MS) and fast atom bombardment mass spectrometry (FAB (-)-MS) were used for the elucidations of its structure and fragmentation pathway. The ion peaks

+ was detected by ESI-MS and the molecular formula of piperazinylethylestrone could be assigned as C24H34N2O2. Furthermore, the fragmentation pathway of piperazinylethylestrone was also explained.
