Abstract:
The mass spectra of 2-Binaphthyl-containing diaryboron chelates of 8-Hgdroxyquinolines and phenylalanine were studied. The formation of 1, 3, 2-oxazahorolidine-ring form the fragmentatidn of chelate-5-ring, via either loss of arylgroup from boron of β-elimination of ArH from B - N bond, are prmary routes. The two σ-πtype rearrangements of 2-Binaphthyl unit, either within the ligand or to the boron,have heen observed also. The latter process involves the expulsion of the neutral species (N, O-bidentate ligands), accompanied by hydrogen migration.
