Abstract:
CyanoFerulic Acid and Its Binary Mixture as Matrices for MatrixAssisted Laser Desorption/IonizationTimeofFlight Mass Spectrometry of ProteinsAuthor Deng Huimin,Lai Zhihui,Li Jun,Zhao Shankai\=(Instrumentation Analysis & Research Centre,Zhongshan University,\=Guangzhou 510275,China)\=\=Received 1998-11-02\=\= Abstract \=\;cyanoferulic acid(CFA)designed and prepared in our laboratory and the solidliquid phase comatrix composed of cyanoferulic acid and 3nitrobenzyl alcohol(CFA+NBA) have been successfully tested for matrixassisted laser desorption/ionization timeofflight mass spectrometry of proteins.The results demonstrate that CFA can effectively desorb insulin which has lower molecular weight,and the binary comatrix CFA+NBA obviously enhances the sensitivity and reproducibility,performing MALDI spectra of cytochrome C and albumin which have higher molecular weight.\=\=Key Words: cyanoferulic acid,3nitrobenzyl alcohol,solidliquid phase comatrix,matrixassisted laser desorption/ionization,protein,molecular weight determination
