Abstract:
Mass Spectrometric Studies of Four and Two Nuclear Molybdena ClustersCat Yuanba;Chen Hongbing;Huang Zixiang;Kang Beisheng(Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter,Chinese Academy of Sciences and State Key Laboratory of Structrual Chemistry,Fujian,Fuzhou 350002,China)Abstract:The research results of three topics are reported in this paper:(1)FABMS and its correlation to cluster conversion forα-Mo4OS3(μ-dtP)3 and this correlation shows that the information of fragment ions provided by mass spectrometry could be directly used to probe the mechanism of cluster conversion in synthetic reaction;(2)according to the rule in the mass spectrometry of inorganic and organometallic compounds that the dominant ions are formed with a minimal Perturbation to the formal oxidation state of the metal in compound under ionization,the relations between the fragment ions and its fermal oxidation state forα-Mo4OS3(μ-dtp)3) under FAB ionization are proposed;(3)the possible fragmentation pathways of both two nuclear molybdena clusters Mo2OS3(S2CNC4H3)2 and Mo2O2S2(S2CNC4H8)2 under DIP ionization are also proposed.Keywords:metal(complex)cluster compound,mass spectrometry,oxidation state
